Hey teammates!
If you didn't know already, the team traveled all the way to San Luis Obispo for the SLO Firecracker Invitational Meet on July 6th, 7th, and 8th. Swimmers from our team from the age of 8 to 16 swam just about every event at the meet (with the exception of my 800 free that I scratched =( ) and we each
individually placed in the blue, red, and white categories.
Congratulations went to Michelle Simpson in receiving a 2nd place trophy in the high point category for 8-unders!
We also had several swimmers that placed first in their events:
Delaney Phipps in 100 back, Christian Hammerich in 50 back, Brandon Yee in 100 free, 50 back, 50 breast, and 100 breast (Wow! Way to go Brandon!), and Joey Malinski in 100 breast and 200 IM.
Other swimmers that swam great and dropped serious time were: Dawson Malinski, Andrew Dana, Sofia Mahoney- Rohl, Angelica Malinski, Marguerite Dana, and Melissa Simpson!
In conclusion the Pacifica Sea Lions kicked butt.
On Saturday night the team headed over to Christian Hammerich?s house at the beach where we ate tasty fajitas, played at the beach, and made a bonfire. It was super fun and a great way to end an awesome trip. Congratulations swimmers, we did it! What will next year?s team trip be? Who knows, maybe Hawaii or Reno or Tahoe?
